Otter Bergmann Folding Knife
An Ode to the Heritage of the Bergisches Land and Beyond
The OTTER “Bergmann” embodies the craftsmanship traditions and innovations of the regions around Solingen and serves as the perfect everyday companion. The Bergmann is inspired by one of OTTER’s very first knives, the Webermesser. Its carbon blade with its very fine tip harks back to its original use in the textile and ribbon weaving mills of the Bergisches Land.
The compact and rounded ebony handle, with its black color, evokes the coal of the Ruhr region. The copper structures in the bolsters made of Fat Carbon reminiscent of formations in coal seams.
These memories of the diverse roots of the region, from which OTTER knives originate, come together in this completely handcrafted knife from Germany’s blade capital, Solingen.
At the IWA Knife Award 2024, the Bergmann was awarded 2nd place in the “Classic” category.
