The original PUMA “Verlängerungsmesser” (Extension Knife) has been one of the most sought-after rarities for decades and is now available again in limited edition. With great passion and dedication, we have been crafting hunting knives of the highest quality for over two and a half centuries. Many PUMA knives have become true classics and are sought after not only by users but especially by collectors. One of these special models is our “Verlängerungsmesser,” which we produced in the 1930s to 1950s. Now, we have decided to reintroduce this model, also known as the “Saustecher” (boar sticker), due to its original purpose.

The new PUMA Verlängerungsmesser features a folding blade that is 19 cm (7.48 inches) long and made of rust-resistant 440C steel (57-58 HRC). In the folded state, the blade extends significantly beyond the handle end, allowing it to be used for finer tasks as well. The movable crossguard, known as the “Swing Guard,” lies flat against the handle and swings in front of the handle when the blade is unfolded, reliably protecting the hand that holds the knife during tasks such as wild game processing. In addition, the “Verlängerungsmesser” has a foldable lever that serves as a safety and release mechanism for the blade, which is adorned with retro markings. Selected stag horn scales and a perfectly fitting brown leather belt sheath complete this beautifully crafted Solingen product, made with high-quality craftsmanship.
